Joe Schramm is an experienced marketing executive and the founder of his own agency, Schramm Marketing Group.
His clients are leading brands in sports, television, entertainment destinations, publishing, non-profits, and trade associations.
The agency specializes in targeted consumer promotions, securing sponsorships, and the production of business conferences, conventions, festivals, and special events.
Schramm is best known for attracting subscribers to pay TV and streaming; for promoting sold-out, world-class, international soccer events; for attracting visitors to major entertainment and tourist destinations; and for producing leading business conferences and festivals for the television and film industries.
Schramm’s career began at the Boy Scouts of America where he successfully met or exceeded goals for enrolling members, engaging volunteers, and raising funds. This was followed by a series of marketing positions through the 1980s in the then-emerging cable TV industry before he opened Team Services, the first of two agencies.
At TEAM, he was responsible for distributing and marketing the first U.S. telecast of the South American Copa America Soccer Championship series in 1993 which was solely sponsored by AT&T. The series, telecast in Spanish, achieved revenue goals which have set the TV industry’s standards for televised soccer ever since. In 1993, Schramm sold Team and founded his current company.
Since then, Schramm has negotiated sports sponsorships for leading consumer brands including AT&T’s investments in championship boxing with HBO, and AT&T’s long-running sponsorship of Major League Soccer. The company, Schramm Marketing Group, has produced over 200 conferences, festivals, or awards ceremony events, and helped to create a promotion that assisted individual Girl Scouts to increase their annual cookie sales.
Due to COVID, in 2021-22, the company has primarily focused on producing conferences and awards programs for the TV and film production industry and securing sports sponsorships for leading consumer brands.
Schramm has been recognized as Cable TV Pioneer, Class of 2015; and named the TV industry’s 2021 LGBTQ+ Executive of the Year. He is a graduate of St. Michael’s College in Vermont and a native of Long Island, NY where he is a member of the Northport Chamber of Commerce and serves as an officer on its Executive Board.
